Som jag skrivit tidigare är jag alltså jobbsökande här nere på Nya Zeeland. När man pratar med rekryteringsfirmor säger de alla att det är dåliga tider. Och när man tittar på de jobb som utannonseras är det mest jobb som antingen kräver certifikat av olika slag, specialistkunskaper eller så handlar det om långsiktiga managementpositioner.

Men idag sprang jag på ett jobb som verkligen VERKLIGEN kändes bra. Det handlar om något så enkelt som IT Network Support Assistant men det som lockade mig så var fokuset på personlighet och kommunikationsförmåga. De skriver:

You will be involved with everything from start to finish, from small networking stations to multi networking to giving presentations to groups of people of how programmes operate. Full training will be provided to the person with the biggest personality. You must be able to work with people from all different walks of life ageing from youth to senior citizens and be a jovial happy person in general.

De skriver vidare att:

Communication and personality is the key to for this position. Ideally you will have some IT qualifications & knowledge or experience in networking systems together, however full training will be provided for the right person.

Dels tycker jag om att jobba med IT/teknologi/nörderier men det jag främst av allt vill syssla med är att vara länken mellan tekniken och användare. “Communication and personality is the key”. Så vill jag jobba.

Så jag skrev ett brev:

Hello

I am writing you in regards to the position of IT Network Support Assistant as advertised on your site. I believe I am the perfect candidate for this job and I am sure your client will be happy to try me out. I love helping people discover how computers can make their work more effective and being the link between the person and the technology. It is really all about communicating difficult things in an easy manner to make technology less scary. It is a wonderful thing to see, when a user “gets it” and starts to feel confident to explore for them selves.

I find I learn new software very easily and I have helped to set up networks before, although I am no hardware expert. I have experience with the Windows platform as well as OS X and I would be happy to learn to work with Linux, Unix or other platforms as well.

Please consider me for an interview and I will make the choice easy for you.
